72 - Karumba

Well here we are at Karumba.

Our trip from O'Briens Creek was uneventful...just the way I like it....We overnighted at a fantastic park at Croydon. Really laid back and free washing machines....how's that.

We wandered through Normaton en route to Karumba....and like all towns out this way, not much to keep the interest, but will post some photies on the next posting as we are going back that way tomorrow (Wednesday 8th September)on our way to Burke & Wills Road House.

Well Karumba is all about a fishing destination. Now the bride & I are not fishing people, but love the end results of caught seafood. So what do you do when in Karumba....not much. If you don't fish, there ain't much else.

However in saying that you must do four things here, in our eyes.

(a) Watch the sun setting over the gulf with grog in hand
(b) Eat a parcel of Ash's famous chis & fips
(c) Go to the pub and again watch the sunset
(d) Buy caught seafood from Raptis Seafood Wholesaler

That's it. How all the Gerry's spend months on end here, got me beat, but I guess it is all to do with the fishing.

Anyway we booked into the Karumba Point Sunset CP, and coming with recommendations, and weren't disappointed...nice place. I don't think it would be much fun when she is choc and block full, which is most of the winter.

Three days will see us out, and then we will hit the road again.

Here's some photies.

The Purple Pub at Normaton

The beach across the road from the Sunset Caravan Park. Looks pretty croc friendly to me

Going............

Going...........

Nearly gone......

Gone......

This sunset wasn't anywhere near the one the night before, but we were to busy socialising as you do.

Tonight we are going to do the pub thing. If the sunset is better tonight I will post more photies. But in the meantime stay toooned for the next entry.
