Cyclone Tasha crossed the coast just south of Cairns, in the early hours of this morning, and although a CAT 1, not a big blow, a little bit of damage, but mostly rain. Everything is in flood.
Hardly a soul in house (motel), and there is just me and the bride, and it is peeeeeeeing down. But we have organised some very dear friends of ours from back when we were here in the 80's and early 90's, as they were home alone as well. So they joined us at the motel for our own Chrissy lunch.
Heavy tropical rain and I mean heavy
Poor old RetroLiner, just water logged
The Val all tucked up and dry
The bride all dressed up and nowhere to go
Cheers and Beers
That's me and our great friends Ray and Vera Sellin

Stay tooooooooned for the next up date.

Sorry to hear about the weather, but at least you are with friends at Christmas.
It is very windy here in Esperance about 30 degrees.
We are recovering from a very big lunch and probably too many bundy's :)
Dave and Shell
Hey Shell
We will have to stop meeting like this (he he!!!)
Thanks for your best wishes, but tomorrow is another adventure, (well sort of)
Only a light lunch for us, but now it is 7.30 pm, and I am going to lock the doors of the motel and bugger off. I'm over it for today!!!
Now my time for many bundy's.

Looks like a wet one alright. We had a fine day in Sydney but it hasn't stopped raining since and we only had a total of 6 days on the way around that had any rain....we have had that in a week since home.
Anyway, nice to look at your blog, I have only just worked about how to get on as a follower.., a bit slow on the uptake.
Don & Michele.
Hi Don & Michelle
Thanks and welcome for coming on board....appreciate you following us.
Rain, we are "totally over it" and I guess every body is from NSW to the top of Qld. We have been pretty lucky doing this "tour of duty" as it has kept us dry....but the rain can go away now. We are only 5 weeks away from hitting the road again.
Took me a while to work this blogging thing out too, but now I am addicted....bring it on!!!!!!!
Following everybody, I get my daily fix, as when one is grounded in a motel 24/7 I need my blogs big time to survive.
Stay safe and have a prosperous new year.

Well, omg and what a coincidence.
As you know I check in on your site about once every week. Today is wet and has been for a week. In fact it is still coming down in bucket loads. But...here is the interesting part. I read your Christmas Day entry and saw your friends are called Ray n Vera Sellin. Strange I thought. I know a Ray n Vera Sellin although I have not seen them for a couple of years. Then I saw the photo's. It is, it is my friends from way back in the Ko Huna outrigger days. Geez mate pass on my regards to them. In fact let em know my blog and email address. Would love to catch up.
