37 - Sydney, family time and many drinkies

Normally when in Sydney we stay at my son's (Mark) house at Engadine..........still in the Sutherland Shire, but a little further south. However being a landscape gardener, his old driveway was ripped up, getting ready for the new concrete pour, hence we couldn't camp there this time.

But of course that was no escuse not to catch up with Mark, our beautiful daughter in law Heidi, Emma our grand daughter, and the new edition to the family Sam, being born 09/09/09. Won't forget that date.

Firstly we went to Emmas school as being a Friday, she was receiving a special award from the school. So we sat in the auditorium and watched all these magnificent children conduct themselves truely in a manner I haven't seen little ones do before. Maybe I just haven't been to a school in a very long time.

Emma being our eldest grand child (7) doesn't see us very often, and although a little shy as you will see by the photies, we had a few cuddles, later in the afternoon.

The bride congratulating Emma on her award.

This is all a bit too much Poppy Paul

Now that's a better look

This was also the time to meet my newest grand son for the first time. So after the awards at Emmas school, we promplty headed off to the pub for a bite to eat and say hello to Sam.

That's Sam and a clone of Mark

Life's tough being a kid

We finished the afternoon and night off with a BBQ, more drinkies and lots of goss. It was fantastic to catch up, as it has been two years since our last get together. My..my....times flies between our visits.
